Groong Podcast (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a volunteer-run project. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website at podcasts.groong.org , the Groong Podcast app (the installable web app at app.groong.org and our native iOS/Android apps), our podcast feeds, and the related content and accounts we operate on third-party platforms (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
These Terms work together with our Privacy Policy and Comment Policy , which are incorporated here by reference.
The Services are intended for a general audience. By using them you represent that you are able to form a binding agreement under applicable law, or that you have your parent’s or guardian’s permission to do so.
You may access and use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:
We may suspend or limit access to the Services, or remove content, if we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated.
Except for third-party material and guest contributions, the episodes, clips, articles, digests, text, graphics, and branding made available through the Services are owned by or licensed to Groong Podcast and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may listen to, watch, stream, share links to, and download our episodes for your own personal, non-commercial use. Any other use — including reproduction, redistribution, public performance, or commercial use — requires our prior written permission.
Views and statements expressed by hosts, guests, and commenters are their own. Guest contributions and any third-party works featured in our content remain the property of their respective owners and may be subject to additional terms.
When our content is distributed or embedded through third-party platforms (for example Buzzsprout for audio, YouTube for video, and our accounts on social platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, and TikTok), your use of that content on those platforms is also subject to those platforms’ own terms.
If you submit content to the Services — for example comments (via Disqus) or your email address for our subscriptions — you are responsible for it and represent that you have the right to provide it. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and use that content for the purpose of operating the Services (for example, showing your comment or sending you the emails you requested). You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any message or by emailing info@groong.org . How we handle the data you submit is described in our Privacy Policy .
The Services rely on and link to third-party services (including those named above and in our Privacy Policy ). We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that service’s own terms and privacy policy.
The Services and all content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
Our content is news, analysis, and commentary intended for general informational purposes only. It is not professional advice (legal, financial, medical, or otherwise), and you should not rely on it as such.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Groong Podcast and the volunteers who operate it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, goodwill, or profits, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Services. To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time. We may also update these Terms as our project, tools, or practices change; the “Last updated” date above reflects the latest revision. Your continued use of the Services after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California, and you consent to venue there.
