The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is a Russia-led economic integration bloc that includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. Armenia joined the EAEU in 2015.

Armenia’s EAEU membership has become one of the central tensions in its evolving foreign policy. As the Pashinyan government deepened ties with the EU and signed a Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, the compatibility of EAEU membership with closer European integration became an increasingly live political question. Groong episodes covering the EAEU examine Armenia’s trade and economic dependencies within the bloc, the political constraints EAEU membership imposes on Armenian foreign policy, and whether Armenia can realistically pursue EU integration while remaining a member.
