Edmon Marukyan is the leader of the Bright Armenia party, seen as one of the few liberal opposition forces to hold seats in the Armenian parliament. His decision to accept an appointment as Ambassador-at-Large under the Pashinyan government was seen by many opposition supporters as a defection, effectively removing one of the credible pro-Western opposition voices from the political field.

Groong episodes covering Marukyan examine his political evolution, the controversy surrounding his government appointment, and the subsequent direction of Bright Armenia in his absence heading into the June 2026 elections.
