Arthur Khachatryan sits in Armenia’s National Assembly with Hayastan Dashinq (the Armenia Alliance), the opposition coalition associated with Robert Kocharyan , and belongs to the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun). Before 2018 he held executive posts including Governor of Shirak, Minister of Agriculture, and Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Development. His guest page carries his full biography and episode list.
On Groong, Khachatryan argues the opposition’s case against the Civil Contract government. He returns to rural development and the agricultural economy, the security of Syunik, and the transit route that Azerbaijan and Turkey call the Zangezur Corridor and tie to pan-Turanic aims. He also addresses the loss of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) , ethnically cleansed of its more than 150,000 Armenian inhabitants in September 2023, and the opposition’s rejection of the concessions that preceded it.
As a Dashnaktsutyun figure with government experience predating the so-called Velvet Revolution, which critics read as a color revolution rather than a popular uprising, Khachatryan speaks for a political tradition the 2018 transition pushed aside. He frames the June 2026 parliamentary elections as a verdict on the government’s record in Artsakh and national defense rather than a contest over domestic reform.
