The Armenian Revolutionary Federation — known in Armenian as Dashnaktsutyun, and commonly referred to as the ARF — is one of the oldest Armenian political organizations, founded in 1890. It operates both within Armenia and across the global Armenian diaspora, where it has historically been one of the most influential political forces.
In contemporary Armenian politics, the ARF is a member of the Armenia Alliance (Hayastan Dashinq), the opposition coalition led by former President Robert Kocharyan. Groong episodes covering the ARF examine its positions on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and the right of return for displaced Armenians, its relationship with Russia and the CSTO, its diaspora activities, and its place within the broader opposition coalition ahead of the June 2026 elections.
The ARF has been one of the most vocal critics of the Pashinyan government’s handling of the peace negotiations with Azerbaijan, arguing that concessions made under Civil Contract have undermined Armenian security and left the displaced population of Artsakh without a path home.
